Now more than ever, the demand for children to be home alone presents distinct challenges.
A myriad of scenarios may call on children to respond swiftly and safely. “Home Alone” builds applicable, age-specific skills while increasing and reinforcing a young person’s capacity to be independent.
The course utilizes scenario-based learning and discussion in order to create a broad understanding of potential challenges regarding home-alone safety.
The importance of responsibility and respect while being accountable for yourself
The importance of setting and following safety rules when on your own
How to stay safe at home and within the community
How to prepare for, recognize and respond to unexpected situations (e.g., inclement weather, strangers, and unanticipated visits)
Basic first aid skills
Please note: Younger siblings 7+ must register.
What to bring:
Healthy PEANUT FREE snacks, water bottle and pen or pencil.
